Frequently asked questions
Answers about the subscription, the calendar, handovers, Discussions, costs and your account.
Getting started
What does Harmoneaz cost?
The first 14 days are free. After that Harmoneaz costs € 3.99 per month or € 34.99 per year. You subscribe in the app, through the App Store or Google Play.
Do we both need a subscription?
No. The subscription is per parent. Without one you can join a group by invitation: you can view everything, check off the packing list, and read and reply in Discussions. To add or change things yourself, such as events, the custody schedule, agreements or costs, you need your own subscription. Read more about pricing.
Can I start before the other parent joins?
Yes. You create a group, set up the custody schedule and use every part on your own. Only Discussions needs the other parent to have an account. You can invite them at any time.
Which devices does Harmoneaz run on?
On iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.4 or later) and on Android (7.0 or later). There is no web version for parents.
How do I invite the other parent, a child or someone else?
Tap the group name at the top and choose “About this group”. At “Group members”, tap the plus button and choose “Add member”. Then pick a parent, a child or “Other person”. The link in the invitation e-mail is valid for 4 hours. Inviting requires a subscription.
Calendar and custody schedule
How do I see who the kids are with on a given day?
Under each day in the calendar there is a small bar in the color of the parent who has care. Tap a day and the “Custody period” card on Home shows who the kids are with and until when.
How do I recognize a handover day?
On a handover day the bar under the day has two colors: on the left the parent the kids are leaving, on the right the parent they are going to. The “Custody period” card mentions the handover day too.
How do I add an event?
On Home, tap the plus button at the bottom right and choose “Add event”. Fill in the title, date and time, assign it to a child if you like, and set a repeat if needed.
How do I record a swap or a holiday week?
With a temporary custody schedule. On Home, tap the plus button and choose “Add temporary custody schedule”. Pick a period of 1 to 90 days; it takes priority over the regular schedule. The change applies right away and the other parent gets a notification.
How do I put the school holidays in the calendar?
Tap the group name, choose “About this group” and then “School holidays”. Pick the region for each child. This is available for groups with the country set to the Netherlands and requires a subscription. Once imported, everyone in the group sees the holidays.
How do I change my color in the custody schedule?
Tap the group name at the top and then your own name. In “My profile”, pick another color at “Custody schedule color”. You can only change your own color, and you cannot pick the same color as the other parent.
Can I see the calendar in my own calendar app?
Yes, with a subscription. In “My profile” you will find “Calendar sync”. With the subscription link you follow the group’s calendar in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook.
Handover, day notes and tasks
Where do I find the packing list and the day notes?
On the “Handover” tab. It shows the day notes and the packing list per custody period, ready for the handover.
How do I add a day note?
On Home or on Handover, tap the plus button and choose “Add day note”. You can attach photos or documents.
How do I add something to the packing list?
Go to the “Handover” tab, tap the plus button and choose “Add packing list item”.
How do I add a task?
On Home, tap the plus button and choose the option to add a task. You can assign it to yourself or to the other parent and set a reminder.
Discussions
How do I start a conversation in Discussions?
Tap the speech bubble icon at the top right. Pick a topic, such as school or health, and write your message. Creating your own topic and sending attachments are part of the subscription; reading and replying is always possible.
Can I edit or delete a message in Discussions?
No, and that is on purpose. A sent message stays as it is, so the conversation remains the same for both parents. The app explains this before your first message. You can archive a topic once it is settled.
What is the tone tip in Discussions?
Before you send a message, the app checks whether it might come across as harsh. This happens on your own device; only you see the tip and you can still send. You can turn tone tips off.
Does Discussions work if the other parent has no account?
No. Discussions works as soon as the other parent has an account and is in your group.
Costs and agreements
How do I add an expense?
Go to the “Costs” tab and tap the plus button. Fill in the amount, a description and who paid, and add a photo of the receipt if you like.
How does settling work?
The “To settle” card shows who still owes the other. You transfer the amount yourselves; the app does not move money. Then tap “Mark as settled”. The other parent gets a notification.
What do I record under Agreements?
The agreements you have made, per topic and per child if you like. Below that you keep track of alimony; for the Netherlands the app can apply the yearly indexation.
Children and others involved
What can children see in the app when I invite them?
Children see the custody schedule, the events and the packing list, and can check off the packing list. They do not see day notes, tasks, Discussions, agreements or costs. An account for a child is free.
Can a new partner or a grandparent follow along?
Yes. Add them as “Other person” and choose a view or edit role. You set per part what that person may see. If both parents have an account, the other parent has to approve the invitation.
